and risering methods are assigned by the Foundry Engineer and applied
in the pattern shop before the pattern is released into the foundry.
New patterns and new methods are subject to trial before quantity production
and trial castings are evaluated by visual and NDT methods to ensure
that acceptable soundness is achieved by the method. Production moulds
are inspected for cleanliness and integrity prior to closure. Castings
are visually inspected and NDT as specified, with records of procedures
being fully documented.
A
computer originated job sheet and Inspection Test Plan guides the work
through the plant and lists instructions to the various departments.
As dictated by the customer the job sheet and Inspection test plan are
compiled from the customers specifications and the Quality Assurance
Department.
Full
heat treatment facilities enable the desired properties
of the alloy to be achieved.
