Welcome to Quality Castings

Quality Castings was established in 1938 to develop the manufacture of high alloy steels, in particular Stainless steels for the chemicals industry. One of the first foundries in Australia to use high frequency induction melting for concise control of melt chemistry, the experience and knowledge gained from this high technology base in our early years has now been built upon to develop a capable efficient foundry to service the demands of Australian Industry.

With a heritage in high alloy steels, this same technology and quality is now applied across the complete range of irons and steels, including sg iron, chrome iron, ni-hards, low alloy steels, high strength steels, wear resisting steels, heat resisting steels and stainless steels including duplex grades. Our experienced metallurgical staff are always pleased to recommend an Alloy for improved performance and cost savings and we regularly supply proprietary alloys developed for specific applications.

The plant is developed on a principle of flexibility in manufacturing, so it is equipped to economically produce orders for castings from one off to medium runs of cast components from less than 1 Kg to 3500Kg. The foundry now uses 6 separate melting furnaces in different sizes and 4 moulding lines so all jobs can be completed efficiently using the appropriate equipment for improved economy and shorter lead times.

Quality Castings is quality accredited to AS/NZS ISO 9001: 2000 and the Company’s laboratory is also NATA accredited for both Chemical Analysis of Ferrous Alloys, and Physical Testing of Metals. On site NDT facilities include magnetic particle and dye penetrant testing, ultrasonic testing and radiography.

Maintaining a skilled workforce and technical expertise controlled by written procedures and the experience of more than 70 years in business, Quality Castings welcomes the opportunity to be of service to the major minerals processing, oil and gas and engineering industries in Australia and overseas.

Full heat treatment facilities enable the desired properties of the alloy to be achieved.

Castings can be supplied in the as cast condition, proof machined or fully machined condition to suit customer requirements.
